ASLE Seeks Candidates for Elected and Appointed Leadership Positions

As a small nonprofit organization, ASLE relies on the participation of our members in the governing and operations of our association. Serving on our leadership team gives you an opportunity to give back to the organization, and to help shape our future direction and mission.

Elected Positions

ASLE will be holding elections this fall for President, two open Executive Council seats (one designated for the Contingent/Independent Advocacy representative), Diversity Officer, and Graduate Student Liaison (junior). Online voting will be conducted during the month of November.

If you would like to nominate yourself or another ASLE member for one of these positions, please contact us at info@asle.orgCandidate statements, of approximately 500 words for Presidential candidates, and approximately 300 words for all other positions, are due by October 27. Please feel free to send a query if you have any questions about the offices, duties or statements.

President

The President is elected for a two year term. The President will also serve the Association for an additional year as Immediate Past President, therefore it is a three year total commitment. The President will preside at meetings of the ASLE officers, Executive Council, and the general membership, guide the organization in many capacities relevant to our mission, and will organize the biennial conference. Please note that for the past two cycles we have elected co-presidents, so a co-candidacy is an option.
